Who we are
Vroo is a pre-booked private hire (chauffeur) service operating across England. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at [email protected] or on 0333 049 VR00.
When you book or call
We process your name, phone number, email (if given), pickup and destination, pickup time, flight number and payment status to deliver the journey you asked for. This is necessary to perform our contract with you. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see your full card number. Phone bookings are transcribed so the team can confirm the details you gave. Booking records are kept for six years for tax and insurance purposes.
Cookies
Strictly necessary: a sign-in cookie (bm_session) when you log in, and vroo_consent, which remembers your cookie choice for six months. These need no consent.
Marketing (only with your consent): if you accept, we load the Google Ads tag so Google can tell us which advert led to a booking, and we keep a first-party cookie (vroo_attr, 90 days) holding the advert campaign and click identifier that brought you here. If you reject, no Google script is loaded and no click identifier is stored — we still note the campaign name on the booking itself so we can see which adverts work. Change your mind at any time by clearing cookies for this site.
Google Ads conversion measurement
With consent, when a booking is paid we send Google the click identifier (gclid), the booking value and the time of payment. No name, phone number or email is shared with Google. Google's handling of this data is described in its own privacy policy.
Business outreach
We contact hotels, offices, venues, schools and similar organisations near the airports we serve about chauffeur services. Business contact details (organisation name, role address such as reception@ or events@, phone, website and address) are collected from publicly available sources — the organisation's own website, OpenStreetMap and the Companies House register — and used on the basis of our legitimate interest in promoting a relevant business service to businesses. We email only incorporated organisations, every email carries a one-click unsubscribe, and we never send marketing texts to numbers we have not been asked to contact. If you would rather we removed your organisation, reply to any email or write to [email protected] and we will suppress it permanently.
Partner referral links
Some hotels and companies share a Vroo link or QR code with their guests and staff. Bookings made through such a link are tagged with that partner's code so we can thank them. The tag identifies the partner, not you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to marketing, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
